After Death: A movie review
What happens after we die? After Death, which we saw last night, does an interesting job of presenting some pretty convincing scientific answers from Near-Death Experience data.
In addition to verifiable facts across the world, cultures, age and religions, the movie dives deep into some pretty astonishing evidence-based thoughts on the spiritual/transcendental realm.
Of course for us who have lost a loved one, the narratives of those that believed they had experienced the gateway to eternity, not only stirred the heart, but elicited wonder and hope. To think of Ben in a perfected form encompassed by a loving God is breathtaking.
Eric and I always wondered if Ben ever visited the other side. He was definitely clinically dead, and came back to us, three times. But when questioned, he never remembered anything. It was always, selfishly, a bit of a bummer. What a great addition to his story that would’ve been!
But the people in the movie with NDEs universally never feared death again, and longed to go back to that “reality.” And interestingly, Ben never feared death. It makes us wonder if God just imprinted that sweet boy at birth with a glimpse of the Light and Love he would be returning to all too soon.
Go to the movie. It’s certainly a thought provoking experience.
